Lonnie Williams Band

The fantastic Lonnie Williams will be playing at The New Orleans Cajun Restaurant, in Seattle’s Pioneer Square. The show runs from 9:00 PM-1:00 AM, on Saturday, August 29. Come party with the band and the rest of the crowd.

Lonnie hails from Beaumont, Texas and plays saxophone like there’s no tomorrow…who knows? There may be no tomorrow, so why not play for your life every opportunity you have? That’s Lonnie’s philosophy whenever he steps onto the stage.

The band features Lonnie Williams (saxophones & vocals); Steve Nowak (guitar & vocals); Mikel Rollins (electric bass & vocals); Eric Wilcox (drums); and Stefan Abuan (guitar & vocals).

We will be playing a mixture of Jazz, Funk, Blues, with a heavy infusion of Soul.

The Importance Of Family

I’ve spent this last week in San Jose, CA, where I reunited with many family members (on my mother’s side) whom I hadn’t seen for over 25 years. I also met, for the first time, younger cousins who are children and grandchildren of the cousins of my generation. It was great for me and healing for many other family members who hadn’t spoken with each other for various reasons. We laughed, cried, ate food, reminisced, and played music for three days straight. I love my family…

Upcoming Show This Friday

Come to The Blue Bottle Espresso in Yelm to witness the soulful singing and stage presence of singer Cara Clarke. I am honored to play music with her; this will be only our second public performance together since we started playing three weeks ago. The music runs from 8:00-10:00 PM, please support live music and The Blue Bottle establishment. There is no cover charge, just bring your high energy, we promise to rock the house!

A Good Time With Lonnie Williams

Woo hoo! I had a great time playing with the Lonnie Williams Band last night at The New Orleans Cajun Restaurant. The band was in high spirits with “groove fever”, while Lonnie worked his magic conjuring up magic through his sax. The audience was very receptive, and danced their way through the night.

The evening was elevated several notches higher when my friend Cara Clarke showed up, ready to kick some serious butt with her soulful singing and stage presence. Our lovely lady brightened up everyone’s night; by the way, she used to sing in Lonnie’s band before I joined him as the residence bassist back in 1990. So it was a reunion for everyone on the stage.

Lonnie Williams Band Tonight!

Lonnie’s band is playing at the New Orleans Creole Restaurant tonight. Lonnie doesn’t have his own web site yet, but here are some YouTube videos of recent 2009 performances by Lonnie, “T-Bone Shuffle” and “Ain’t No Sunshine”. Check out Lonnie’s powerhouse saxophone playing!
