PhatFunkBlues is the web site of musician Stefan Abuan, a guitarist whose music is a blend of Funk & Blues, with an undertone of Jazz. His previous career was that of electric bassist, playing for 20 years throughout the Pacific Northwest, all the way to New England, and points in between.

In 2005 Stefan stepped out of his bass player role, traded all his bass gear for a couple guitars, then began re-learning the guitar. Although he had originally played guitar previous to his bass career, his guitar chops were now minimal and needed a lot of re-tuning.

Stefan’s level of DEDICATION to his music is actualized by the amount of TIME he spends working at his craft with a laser-beam FOCUS, fueled by the INSPIRATION of his family and friends whose love and laughter enriches his life.
